Dan and Jaime’s August wedding in Georgia had to be postponed due to the corona-virus and all of the gathering restrictions that went along with the pandemic. Instead, they decided to elope at a private residence in Red Feather, Colorado. It was an extra special day for me because I not only got to be their photographer, but I also got to witness the union of my brother-in-law to a girl that has become a great friend and sister to me over the last couple of years.
The day started with a family breakfast and a quick rehearsal in the back yard, then the bride and groom separated to get ready on separate floors of the house.
Since Dan is well known for his pranks, it was only fitting for the family to pay him back with a trick of their own. His brother Cody dressed up as Hillary in a veil and surprised Dan for his first look. I can tell you he definitely wasn’t expecting that surprise when he got tapped on the shoulder! I think he preferred his second first look, when he finally got to see his stunning bride.
We took some time out of the day to capture some beautiful portraits of the bride and groom at a nearby lake, and then headed back for their intimate back yard wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony we took a few more family photos and some incredible sunset shots of the bride and groom, then I was able to put down my camera and enjoy the celebration for the rest of the night.
