There is something incredibly special about documenting the season before a family grows.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Kelsey and Ridge as they prepare to welcome their first baby, and this session was a little different than my typical photography style—in the very best way. Instead of heading outdoors, we met in a beautiful all-white studio in Greeley, Colorado. The clean, minimalist space allowed us to focus on what mattered most: the quiet anticipation, the connection between these two, and the incredible beauty of motherhood.
I absolutely loved collaborating with Kelsey to create a session that felt artistic, timeless, and deeply personal.
A Minimalist Maternity Session
The simplicity of the studio created the perfect backdrop. Without distractions, every image highlighted Kelsey's radiant glow and the tiny life growing inside her.
For the first part of the session, Kelsey wore classic denim paired with a neutral top and bralette. The look was effortless, casual, and timeless while beautifully showcasing her growing baby bump. Bare feet, soft light, and simple styling created photographs that feel authentic and will never go out of style.
These are the kinds of images that become treasured keepsakes—not because of elaborate props or trendy setups, but because they capture a moment exactly as it was.
Making a Statement
We also explored a more artistic side of maternity photography.
For a handful of images, Kelsey wrapped herself in luxurious sheer tulle that gently draped around her body. The soft fabric added movement and elegance while keeping the focus entirely on her beautiful silhouette.
The result was intimate, graceful, and powerful.
These photographs celebrate the incredible journey of pregnancy and honor the strength and beauty of motherhood in such a timeless way.
