The dodson family's Summer Photography session


There is something incredibly special about getting an entire family together. Between busy schedules, growing families, and loved ones living in different parts of the state, these moments don't happen often—which is exactly what made the Dodson family's extended family photography session in Windsor, Colorado so meaningful.


This session was a surprise anniversary gift for the parents, bringing generations together to celebrate their family and create lasting memories. Family members traveled from across Colorado, making this a reunion worth documenting.


A Beautiful Summer Evening Along the River


We met in one of my favorite Windsor, Colorado photography locations, where the peaceful river and sparkling blue water created the perfect summer backdrop. The soft evening light reflected beautifully across the water, giving us a timeless setting for portraits that will be treasured for years to come.


One of my favorite details from this session was how thoughtfully everyone coordinated their outfits. Their cool blues, soft neutrals, and floral patterns complemented the natural surroundings perfectly. The colors looked beautiful against the water and greenery while still allowing each family's personality to shine through.

One of the biggest advantages of an extended family photography session is creating a complete collection of images for everyone.
